COVID Graduation Notification

Ukiah High School Information

May 24, 2021

Congratulations Ukiah High School Class of 2021!

We are excited to celebrate graduation with you on Saturday, June 5 at 9:00 a.m.  Please read all previous and future communications about graduation so you know what you need to do each step of the way.

The purpose of this communication is to inform you that If you are under a quarantine order on graduation day you will not be able to be in the graduation ceremony.  Currently, a quarantine lasts 10 days.  Please understand the following timeline:

  • Graduation is on Saturday, June 5.
  • The school district’s COVID protocol states that all non-vaccinated students physically attending a class or with a cohort (such as an athletic team) that is within close proximity must be quarantined for 10 days if a member of the class or cohort tests positive for COVID.
  • If you receive a quarantine order on Wednesday, May 26 or later you will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
  • There are three school days after Wednesday, May 26.
  • If you were fully vaccinated on or before May 12 you will not have to quarantine.  Therefore you will be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
  • There are no exceptions to the above timeline or guidelines.

The graduation ceremony is an important event for you and your family.  Wear a mask, maintain appropriate distances, and make wise choices in your interactions with others.  It is important that you complete all work to pass classes required for graduation.  Please work with your teachers to make sure you are doing all required work.  As has been the case since we returned to campus, an alternative to attending classes on campus is to participate in classes remotely.

Again, congratulations Class of 2021! We look forward to your full participation in our graduation ceremony.
