English II

This one-year college preparatory course is designed for students with average and above average ability. Continued attention is given to the development of reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking skills. Emphasis in literature is on the understanding and appreciation of world literature. Exploration of expository texts and research skills continue to foster mastery.

 

Continued focus on Greek and Latin roots and derivatives comprises the focus of vocabulary building and decoding skill development at this level.
