Course Description
Spanish II continues the college-prep path of introduction to the Spanish language. Students in this course build more complex and academic vocabulary including
such themes as one’s daily routine, childhood memories, athletics, and increasingly complex activities.

Students will be competent using the present tense, the future tense, the present progressive, and the uses of the preterit vs. the imperfect in the past. Emphasis is placed on the preterit/imperfect. Graduates of the course will be able to conduct authentic conversations in Spanish, respond to complex instructions, and be able to ask and answer complex Spanish both verbally and in writing.
Daily homework and class participation form an important part of the student’s grade.
Prerequisite: Spanish I with a C or better and teacher recommendation
