Course Description

Pre-Algebra is an introduction to basic algebra concepts and a review of arithmetic algorithms.
 
The course is designed to help students overcome weakness in preparation in mathematics, emphasizing the concepts necessary to be successful in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. The content covered includes the following: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers; solving equations; factors and fractions; rational numbers; ratio, proportion, and percent; inequalities; functions and graphing; real numbers and right triangles; two-dimensional figures; three-dimensional figures; statistics and probability; polynomials and nonlinear functions. 
 
Placement: Math placement exam and teacher recommendation.
