French II

Course Description

French II continues the college-prep path of introduction to the French language.
 
Students in this course will build a more complex and academic vocabulary
including such themes as one’s daily routine, travelling, fashion, food, getting around the house, learning about the environment, technology and art. They will also be trained to complete increasingly complex activities. Students will be
competent using the present tense, the future tense, the present progressive, and the uses of the preterit vs. the imperfect in the past. Emphasis is placed on the
preterit/imperfect.
 
Graduates of the course will be able to conduct authentic conversations in French, respond to complex instructions, and be able to ask and answer complex French both verbally and in writing.

Prerequisite: Completion of French I with a C or better and teacher recommendation
