Life Science
Course Description
Life Science is the second year course for students planning on community college or vocation/career after high school, or as a foundation course for a college prep science. The course will include hands-on activities and simulated labs, and emphasize reading, writing, organizational skills, and basic science process skills.
Topics covered will include basic fundamental principles of chemistry, cells, taxonomy, genetics, evolution, and ecology. Completion of Life Science meets the health requirement for graduation.
Students who take Life Science are encouraged to have completed Earth Science before attempting a college-prep lab science course.
Prerequisite: Intro to Science, Intro to Ag Science or Env. Earth Science
