International and Global Studies

This class teaches students about issues and current events happening all over the world. Students analyze, debate, and discuss recent political, economical,
historical, and cultural opinions as well as develop their own ideas.

 

For example, students may study the war on terrorism, relations with other nations, the War in Iraq, global health issues, world-wide environmental problems, the role of the United Nations, globalization and other events specific to the time period.

 

The goal of this class is to make students more aware of global events, to enhance and reinforce Social Science standards, and to prepare students for a more globally connected society
